Gazprom expects Russia’s 2020 gas demand to fall by 5%

MOSCOW, Jul 9 (PRIME) -- Demand for Russian gas is to decline by 4.8% in 2020, Yulia Lelikova, director of the department for government relations of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz, affiliate of gas giant Gazprom, said at a meeting with the State Duma, parliament's lower chamber, on Thursday.

"Concerning 2020, we cautiously forecast a decrease of demand on the domestic gas market at about 4.8%," Lelikova said.

She said that overdue debt can grow by 36.5 billion rubles in 2020, and added that the forecast is adjusted for the current events and measures.
